Wednesday Summit Spotlight

What a spectacular day!

We started bright and early this morning with our usual care routine at 7 AM, followed by a hearty breakfast that fueled everyone up for our big field trip. The energy in the dining hall was absolutely contagious – you could tell everyone knew today was going to be special!

Our morning adventure took us to the Massachusetts State House, where your campers got to explore one of Boston's most historic landmarks. The kids were absolutely fascinated by the golden dome (did you know it contains 23 karats of gold leaf?), and our tour guide was impressed by their thoughtful questions and genuine curiosity. It's moments like these that remind us why experiential learning is so powerful – seeing their faces light up as they connected history to the present was truly something to behold.

After working up an appetite exploring the State House, we returned to Emerson for lunch, where the stories and laughter from the morning's adventure filled the room. There's nothing quite like watching new friendships bloom over shared experiences!

This afternoon, our campers dove into their rotation activities with their usual enthusiasm. In martial arts, they're learning not just physical techniques but confidence and focus – skills that translate beautifully to every other area of their lives. Our yoga sessions continue to provide that perfect balance of mindfulness and movement, helping everyone find their center before tonight's big event. And in theater, well, the creativity and collaboration happening in that room would make any parent's heart swell with pride.

At 4:30, we introduced everyone to Shakespeare's "As You Like It" – the play we saw later in the day!  Watching your campers engage with 400-year-old poetry and find the humor, heart, and humanity in it never gets old. Their insights and questions show just how bright and thoughtful this group truly is.

Tonight was our crown jewel – Shakespeare in the Park! There's something absolutely magical about experiencing live theater under the open sky, surrounded by community. Your campers were part of a tradition that connects them to centuries of theater-goers who have found joy, wonder, and connection through live performance. We have no doubt they'll come away with hearts full of inspiration and heads full of beautiful new memories. These are the moments that often become the stories they'll tell for years to come.

By the time you're reading this, your campers will probably be bursting with stories about golden domes, Shakespeare under the stars, and whatever delightful surprises the day brought along the way. We can't wait to hear about their favorite moments when they share them with you!

As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if there's anything we can do to support your camper's experience. Watching them grow, laugh, and discover new passions every single day remains the greatest privilege of our work.

Thank you for trusting us with these amazing kids. Days like today remind us exactly why we do what we do.
